ORLANDO, FL - "The future has a way of arriving unannounced.", a quote by George F. Will - and the exact description of what's happening now in Rap music. Orlando's Wes Fif has quietly been gaining a large following since he stepped into the underground scene in 2004. After a hit record ("Haterz Everywhere" w/ B.O.B.), a short stint with a label home (Slip N Slide Records circa 2007), and many media run ins (Mediatakeout.com & being deemed a threat by Orlando's Local 6 News) - he is still at it. With the buzz single "Im Tellin Ya" getting mixshow play in over 13 markets - including NYC, Detroit, Tampa, Satellite Radio, it's now or never for the 23 year old.
Hooking up with one the mixtape games most sought after names, DJ Spinatik - the two now bring us a special edition of the Street Runnaz series entitled "Just Watch Me". This offering is packed with hard hitting street anthems, as well as smoothed out records for his female fans...Wes describes it simply as "quality street music". With guest spots from the likes of Kevin Cossom, C-Ride, and Papa Duck to name a few, this project definitely gives you a glimpse of what's next.
In an industry filled with fads, trends, and gimmicks, Wes is poised to take it back to the essence - the streets. Says Fif, "I've been waiting a long time for this, to show what I can do. I've sat thru the fads, the flops, the hype, and Im still here. Im still what the people want, they want to see me win. So I think I'll do that now, just watch me."
