“The name is Young Twinn, but there is none identical”, says this 22 year old Houston, TX artist. Not your average Southern rapper, Twinn’s unique style is indebted to old school hip-hop while also carrying a fresh hood swag. And with his smooth Southern drawl, he doesn’t having a problem attracting the ladies. His image as a sex symbol only increases as he consistently puts in time at the gym. But beyond his sex appeal, Twinn focuses his energy on being a role model in his community and this industry.

Influenced by Houston, TX legends such as UGK as well as members of the infamous SwishaHouse, Young Twinn started making music as early as middle school. “I use to play sports,” he says, “so before games me and my friends would freestyle.” Soon, these informal rap sessions yielded written material, and, once given an audience, a star began to arise.

Although Young Twinn has worked with many big name artists like Sean Kingston, Akon and Pleasure P to name a few, he remains humble and devoted to his artistry. “I was stingy on this album”, says the rapper, “I didn’t want to deal with all the BS and lack of support.” His latest album, Theme Music currently doesn’t contain any big name features and this is largely by his own doing. He isn’t the type of artists that wants to latch onto success in an effort to gain public recognition, rather, “I want to get to the level that people want to work with me.” The level of agency and creative control that Twinn exhibit is seldom given to artists, let alone those who are at his stage of the game. Headlining Undertaker Entertainment, this artist is paving the way for many independent musicians like himself.

What is unique about Young Twinn is genuine and relatable personality. He’s not trying to be hard, but in his on words, “I’m just trying to be me”. And who is Young Twinn: he is a down to earth Southern gentleman, who, despite the many hours he puts into his craft, still finds time to play NBA Live on his PS3.

His latest singles “Houston TX” and “Get’er Done” have gained popularity locally and nationally, giving audiences a hunger for more and making him a real fan favorite. As his travels continue to take him across the country and beyond, Young Twinn is eagerly working towards his definition of greatness and is surpassing everyone’s expectations.
